Yes Whey (not New Whey) Protein Shots Review

Recommended Posts

Got some of these, they come in Orange, Grape, and fruit Punch flavors. They are VERY tart (mixing in with some Water makes it less so) but are not terrible. They have 25g Protein, 0g fat, 0g carbs with a PDCAAS score of 100.

I don't believe you can find them in any store, but they can be ordered at Bariatric Advantage (https://www1.bariatr...og/group/77102/)

I'll be ordering more of these for Post-Op!

It's still hydrolyzed Gelatin Protein, even if they use whey, it's likely still collagen based which is a FAR in-superior protein blend. There is a trace amount of tryptophane, so the amino acids included are near pointless since the transport and sustaining compound isn't even included to a true BCAA ratio. The product, after being manufactured, (which is curious why the yes protein website is no longer accessible) likely sits on a shelf for months, thus breaking down the amino acids and protein make up, you're basically drinking a shitty tasting Jello compound with half of the nutritional value it claims to have. Plus, take a look at what is used to make the gelatin protein blend...animal intestines, bones, teeth, and skin. As a meat eater, there's no damn way in hell I'd even fathom the idea of using these as a protein source, especially at a time as critical as post op.

I swear, I've repeated this on soooooo many different posts lately, tho not quite as intelligently as you did. Thank you for providing the facts on this, I feel like it should be a featured post that everyone has to read, because TOO MANY people lately have been talking about using these products and they are NO BUENO!!!

Also, I find it silly/ironic that you can say something is "shitty", but I can't make any reference to H.M.O. insurance on a board about surgery unless I put in the periods because it will by blurred out as ***. RIDICULOUS.

A lot of people are just either not informed, or mis-informed. Bottom line, when it comes to Protein for anyone, let alone someone who is going to depend on supplementation after a major surgery, high quality products need to be used, not some short cut low quality product. These products are marketed to those who don't have time to sit and read/research what's actually in them, and what they use to get that Protein number.

Also, one has to keep in mind, you can pill cayenne pepper and market it as a fat loss supplement and there's nothing anyone can do about it. These companies don't even bother with an FDA approval because they know they won't get it.

Haha, my guess is that H.M.O. is too close to a derogatory term spelled a similar way. But, still, it should know the difference, unless someone in the past was using those 3 letters in place of the 4 letter word.

yeah, i figure that's the reason too, but seriously, how often would that happen anyway? That's what moderators are for, and this is a site about surgery and the related emotional, physical and FINANCIAL aspects! Not a big deal or anything, and I'm certainly not offended by shitty or anything, just think it's a bit odd. :)

Wellthen *frustrated stomp* what Protein Shots out there ARE good? I can't rely on real food in my current environment (deployed - MREs) and am relying on Protein powders/bars/shots sent via care packages.

Actually these particular shots are 100% Whey Protein Isolate.

I am very glad to see that there are other people on the forum watching out for the rest of the garbage shots that are out there.

Again I'd like to stress, these (Yes Whey) are the only real Whey Protein Shots (to my knowledge) and you cannot get them in any stores, they are currently only sold online.

All other shots are complete crap!

New Whey, Super Whey, Carnivore, Sunkist, Fit 2 Go, Protein 2 Go, Profect,Beef Up, Proasis, Elite, Pure Whey = collagen/gelatin= useless garbage

Notice the first ingredient in the Protein blend, Hydrolyzed Collagenic Protein Isolate, unusable by the human body.

You can post a link that shows Yes Whey contains collagen-based protein or is this your opinion (you said "likely").

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
