Gall bladder or c section?

Recommended Posts

I think the sleeve would have been less painful if it weren't for the intense gas pain(the gas they use to inflate your abdomen) but you may not have that pain so don't get worked up over anticipating the pain. Take your pain meds as often as they can give them to you. Don't let it get out of hand. My pain only lasted less than two days. Plus I was so excited that it didn't matter much. Good luck to you!

I really had very little pain from the sleeve surgery, and was mostly back to normal in a week, when they took the drain out. I have had two c-sections, and would say they were waaaaay worse in terms of pain and recovery time.

Has anyone had their gall bladder out or a c section? If so which was more painful the c section, gall bladder or the sleeve?!

I've had both. I thought the sleeve was most comparable, as far as discomfort, to the gallbladder surgery. I had a little bit of a harder time than I thought I would because I've been lucky enough to bounce back easily after surgery previously. I shouldn't have talked myself into believing I wouldn't really have *any pain. :)

I think that the location of the discomfort was really comparable to my gallbladder surgery. I will say that after the first 12 hours, I was pretty comfortable.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
