One Year After Revision--Headless Photos

Recommended Posts

(Headless, because I'm waiting for my stalker dude to DIE before I put my photos anywhere he can see them. He's even older than I am. This may not take forever. LOL)

Also, remember that revision patients usually have a slower rate of loss and even a lesser total loss than first-time patients...so I'm still "a ways" from where I want to be.

Photo on the left is three years AFTER banding and the day before my band removal and revision to the DS. Photo on the right is one year AFTER the DS. Let's see if I can do this:

Wow, you look great!

Also, I just figured out that the little smiley at the bottom of your posts has a whip. My mind went somewhere else when I saw it, especially when it says, "25 grams of Protein in less than 3 ounces.":o

You look fab, 30 more pounds? I can see maybe 10 or 15 but 30? unless you are hiding your weight in your head? Is that why you really hide it?LOL You look great as is...~Mandy

Thanks, Ladies.

Yes, Mr. Sue likes that I feel like I used to feel...except it scares him, too. He keeps waking up thinking he went to bed with someone other than his wife and that he's about to be in BIG trouble.

About the weight. My BMI is just under 33. I really am a big-boned girl--size 8 wedding ring right after Basic Training--not a lot of fat at that time in my life, but still BIG. I am currently about 45 pounds over my weight at the end of Basic Training. I'm older and probably a little shorter. Losing 30 more would put me at the middle of the overweight category. I think that's an ideal place for me at this stage of my life.

And besides, that sweater is hiding a lot of tummy!! LOL But, thanks for the kind words.

Amazing transformation Sue, even without being able to see your face, you look a lot younger, and you've got a lovely set of collarbones there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
