First picture is from Feb 9, second is from April 15. I still can't see changes when I look in the mirror but when I compare these pictures I can see it! Changes are happening, slowly and surely...

I haven't had any trouble getting my Protein in. I couldn't have protein really until two weeks ago today and since then, on most days I get in 100+ grams. I do 3 Protein shakes a day with at least 20 gms of protein in each of them plus I have been eating refried Beans with cottage cheese and low fat cheese for lunch and scrambled egg whites scrambled with cottage cheese and low fat cheese for supper. One egg white has 4 gm protein (a whole egg has six, I trade the yolk with all its fat and cholesterol for other egg whites and just chunk the yolks) and I usually can do 3 or close to 3 egg whites plus the protein from the cheese and cottage cheese. Refried Beans don't have as much protein but with the cheese and cottage cheese it helps. I also eat Snacks like cheese sticks or boiled eggs (usually just the whites). I have hit a stall on the scales but I had been getting in more carbs (50-70 gms a day) and as of two days ago I have cut back to less than 30 a day which is actually harder for me than getting the protein in. I'm gonna break this stall! As of today I can add baked fish, tuna, tuna/chicken/egg salad. I had canned salmon for lunch and am going to have some grilled salmon for supper. I also had some egg salad for a snack, 1 boiled egg white and one reduced fat cheese stick. (so for the day I'll have had 120 gm protein, 28 gm carbs, 4 gm fiber) You just have to get creative. I've even figured out how to put vanilla Protein powder in my morning coffee which I am loving.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
