Seeking Last Minute Advice

Recommended Posts

Hello Sleevers! I am 3 days to surgery and I am in planning mode, getting SUPER excited. I am a little concerned because I have only lost 12 lbs on the pre-op liquid diet and I feel like it should be more. I guess we shall see. I have stalled, any suggestions for my final push. and advice on being prepared after surgery?

As far as losing pre-op as long as you follow the plan that is the most important part.

For afterwards make sure you have things done to make life easier for you, I made sure the house was clean, stocked up on lots of different liquids that were allowed and made sure there were easy dinner options for my family (some I pre cooked some pre made) so I didn't have to torture myself with cooking.

Also chicken broth! Canned sucks home made is the way to go!

Relax! Pre-op is not so much about weight loss, rather preparation and reducing fatty liver, If you are sticking with the plan all will be well. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Good Luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
