Ok post sleevers so how do you know if your gallbladder is going bad? I've had some problems in the past I get a kinda dull pain in my back. I was sleeved on March 25th everything been going good today I got that feeling again. My Dr didn't wanna take my gallbladder out at the same time as my sleeve surgery. He said something about if it was infected he didn't wanna risk infecting my new stomach. So what if any symptoms do you experience when your gallbladder is going bad?

My experience with Gallbladder attacks were this: severe burning pain between shoulder blades slightly to the right, pain under ribs on right side and severe nausea that often lead to throwing up. My final one that caused me to go to the hospital had me feeling severely out of it and unable to focus on anything.

Same as Roserie, Severe nausea, pain that started in the front and worked it's way around to my back. Doctor said I was full of stones. Oh, I had no warning, that was my one and only attack.

I had a few attacks similar to what Terri described, and had mine out the month before getting sleeved. Did your doctor indicate that you had gallstones before?

Full blown attacks are horrible, yet different from person to person. Having an infected gallbladder is different than having stones. You do not want it to rupture and have to have emergency surgery. Attacks in some cases can be triggered by eating fatty foods, this was not the case for me. It would happen any time the stone moved and the gallbladder got inflamed. I happen to have a large stone, many people are filled with small stones. A simple ultrasound could let you know what the deal is. Good luck! Don't let it go too long.

I guess I should mention that my attacks came no matter what I ate. I was actually scheduled to see a surgeon to have it removed and so I had already had an U/S that confirmed it was inflamed and full of stones. Some attacks gave me pain worse than when I had my c-section.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
