I love port! Back off Iggy :P

LOL Laura I didn't say not to drink it, just not to lump all wine in with it :P

BTW I do too LOL But I must admit that whenever I've had a lovely enough evening to warrant the port coming out I always say yes and I ALWAYS regret it LOL And don't even mention a cigar when I have a port....they go hand in hand or head in toilet for me LOL

Since the surgery I haven't had a port though. I really don't do well with high sugar content and think it might cause major puke factor. Have you tried it since surgery?

My moms best friend didn't lose much... So I probably won't. And, a friend of a friend had gained it all back - so I will too- cause fat people have no self control. It's who u know huh?

Here's one - that you will feel great in no time, like a day or two, after having major surgery where they remove 85% of your stomach. Your energy level will through the roof!! Geeze....hate to admit it, but I was really hoping that one was true! Um, not so much.

This a not a legend... But it doesn't happen to everyone. I was completely normal when I woke from surgery and had a ton of energy. From that day on I have been on the go.. Even very active in MX and San Diego.. Nonstop. I went down there with the mindset that I didn't want to waste a mini vacation opportunity and did exactly that. Hopefully this happens to a lot of people.

Wow, lucky you. :) Felt like crap for at least a week. It took me 3 weeks to almost feel normal and the 5 months to have a lot of energy. I think the high energy comes with regular exercise. Myth!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
