... getting on the stupid scales everyday. I get up each morning and it's the same routine. Go pee and get on the scales right before getting in the shower. For the past two weeks now I've been looking at the same 3 pounds go up and down, up and down. It puts me in such a bad mood to start the day and I'm not doing it any more. I was three weeks out this past Monday and I've lost 17 pounds since surgery. I know that is still a great loss in three weeks, never before have I been able to do that, BUT that loss was in a week and a half and now NOTHING for two weeks! It is just so frustrating. I have read the article about why stalls happen when you first start losing and it totally makes sense to me. I was even encouraged by it, but now I'm just irritated. I know I'm doing it to myself because I'm the one who keeps getting on the scale every day. I had surgery on 3/25 which was a Monday. For now I'm going to weigh only on Mondays and we will see how that goes. I'm praying that this stall will break soon. I know it will eventually...

i totally understand where you are BECAUSE i am in the same boat.. except 3 weeks no loss... after surgery i had lost14 pounds and then a complete hault.. so i guess we just need to wait and wait and wait for the weight to come off again. Good luck to you!

Same to you!! Thanks :) It's nice to know that I'm not alone, I know that everyone has stalls like this. I sure do hate it for everyone though, it sucks to have to go through it. God is apparently teaching me patience which I have never had much of.

I have nothing to add since I haven't been sleeved yet (altho been trying to lose 15 lbs like they want me to before surgery & I keep going up & down 3 lbs but it's my own fault), but the reason I'm posting here is that I LAUGHED OUT LOUD looking at your profile picture!!! OMG, that is so true! I want to take my scale out so bad....and not on a date either! Grrrrrrrr!

I went through that many times, staying the same and going UP as much as 5 pounds. Apparently, although I appeared to be going up and staying the same, the ground under me was slanted downward because I reached my goal and beyond. Optical illusions. :D

I'm the exact same here.... made 4 weeks Tuesday and for 10 days now i've been toggling between those three pounds.... I have an appt with my NUT today and hopefully we can talk about fixing this problem.... good luck to you both and i'll let you know the outcome of my appt today :)

Same here, I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and lost 20 pounds in the first 2 weeks and now nothing! I better not be stalling already..I'm wondering if I start exercising if that will help jump start it again? Going for my post op appt today and will find out when I can start exercising..Good luck..

Stalls happen at different times and for different lengths of time. Instead of weighing today take a tape measure and do a table of your measurements, bust, waist, hips thigh etc and keep a weekly measurement date with yourself. Those inches will drop even if the scales don't.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
