Whodatcat 10 Posted April 18, 2013 Hello all my name is Cathy I'll be having my sleeve in May and of course very nervous. I have a boss that is not very happy about me having this done. Will I be strong enough to return to work in one or two weeks. I drive 1 hour to get to work. Work 9 hrs. and drive 1 hr. home. I do have a desk job. Will I feel weak at work for a while? HoosierGirl 780 Posted April 18, 2013 I went back to my desk job one week after surger. But it was too soon for me - not because of pain, but because I was SO TIRED. After the second week, the tiredness went away and I was fine. My bosses were very supportive (and both are SUPER SKINNY MEN - go figure). If you don't have the bosses support, take at least two weeks and come back rocking it. 1 MicaNicole reacted to this

JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted April 18, 2013 I had surgery on a Tuesday and was back at the office on Monday. You can't really predict how your recovery will be, but if you stay hydrated and get in as much Protein as you can your energy should be ok (again, everyone is different). It is important to remember to move and walk those first few weeks, especially if you are at a desk all day and have a long commute. It will be important for you to listen to your body and not overdue it. I do recall being very tired at the end of the day, the first few days back. Good luck, if you really dont' feel you can go back that soon, get a note from your doctor.
