So tomorrow will be 6 weeks since surgery....I'm right around a total loss of 30 lbs....lost the first 23 in the first two weeks...don't know why but kinda worry some for me that it has ben much slower since week two! But I have to say this has ben the best decision I have ever made and I would definitely do it all over again!

I am happy to hear you say that you would do this all again. I am scheduled for Apr 24, Day 8 today of liquid diet/protein drinks. It is boring, drinking the shakes, and I have added some hot herbal tea and broth because I am wanting hot things.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Nicole, your progress is fantastic. I'm six weeks tomorrow as well and up to 12 kg's or 26 1/2 pounds lost forever! My Weight loss has slowed down but still loosing about 2 lbs per week, so very pleased with my new stomach. I know that I have to keep up with my Protein. It's been difficult for me as I'm having trouble with a lot of protein - just can't get it in. I've had a break from the shakes and are back on them now with a high protein snack at least daily. Hopefully this will improve my weight loss. Good luck with your future loss :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
