makemyownluck 785 Posted April 17, 2013 are you taking B12? try increasing your dose if you are taking it, and if you're not, start! get sublingual.
Ms.Cali 56 Posted April 17, 2013 Been feeling weak for weeks now - I got a B complex shot two days and I feel a difference in my energy. It's not to the level it was pre-surgery but better to where the normal day to day stuff is manageable. I still have to work on my protien intake - they say that helps with your energy too. newat52 1,613 Posted April 17, 2013 For the first 6 weeks or so you may have a day here and there like that. I sure did. My surgery went without a hitch, no uncontrolled pain and no nausea at all. Went home after one day was was walking a mile before the week was out. I had no problem at all getting my Protein and liquids and was taking my Vitamins. Energy level was great. But every maybe 4th or 5th day I would just not have the stamina or energy to do much. I just took it easy those days and made sure to get a nap (and I NEVER take naps) I would wake up the next day feeling like myself again. I think its just the body's way of making sure you don't overdo it. Listen to your body, major surgery does take time to fully recover from. You will be glad you did. 1 ISleevedIt reacted to this

makemyownluck 785 Posted April 18, 2013 My doc told me 2 take every other day I took 1 yesterday I think I'm gonna take 1 again 2day I don't like this feeling Puritan.com has a great selection of sublingual B12 in different doses (and really great prices). As far as I've read, there's no danger in taking "too much" b12 but you can verify that with your NUT or MD. I got a formula with 2500mcg of B12, plus B6, folic acid and Biotin in it as well. makemyownluck 785 Posted April 19, 2013 Thanks I was thinking bout starting Biotin early not tryna loose any hair I'm already kinda thin when did u have ur surgery & did u experience any Hair loss I'm actually not sleeved yet! I'm scheduled for 5/2, on my preop liquid diet now. I have thin hair already, I've been using Biotin for about a year. I got the highest dose I could find in the store, took it twice a day and didn't really notice a difference. But I've been doing the liquid for about 2 months and its about 4x more potent and I'm noticing faster growth and thicker hair. I'm hoping the biotin helps me hold on to more after surgery! I also started using Wen products around Christmas time and my hair feels better than it has in years, and I color my hair and blow dry/flat Iron it daily. It used to feel like straw, now it's smooth and silky and shiny!

makemyownluck 785 Posted April 20, 2013 Where did u get the liquid Biotin from Here's the link to it on puritan.com: http://www.puritan.com/biotin-421/liquid-biotin-3000-mcg-051290 they offer deals if you buy in multiples. Right now it's 2 for $5.99, 5 for $11.98. It says it's mixed berry flavor, but taken on it's own it reminds me of cherry cough Syrup. I don't mind it, but I did mix it in with some crystal light as well, and since you just use 1 dropper full, you can't taste it in the crystal light (I put it in a pomegranate cherry crystal light, which is a fruit punch sort of flavor, so it masked the Biotin well). Each bottle will probably last about a month and a half or so. I also get my sublingual B12 from this site, they have a formula that has extra B6, Folic Acid and Biotin in it as well: http://www.puritan.com/biotin-421/vitamin-b-12-2500-mcg-sublingual-with-folic-acid-vitamin-b-6-and-biotin-018641; those are 2 for $17.99 or 5 for $35.98. Each bottle is a 2 month supply.
