Tricia1285 5 Posted April 17, 2013 After having the realize band placed...did anyone ever experience IBS symptoms. I have been diagnosed with Fructose Intolerance and experience a lot of IBS symptoms starting a few months after being banded. I am currently awaiting insurance approval to have the realize band removed and have the sleeve done. I have had very limited success with the band and experience IBS symptoms and pain on a daily basis as well as acid reflux. Anyone have a similar problem? thinathart 197 Posted April 17, 2013 Although I have never been banded, I have suffered from IBS for the last 15 years. Having the sleeve was the best thing I could have done for my IBS. I've had maybe 3 flares in the last 5 months, which only lasted a few hours each time. I'm more "normal" now, than I've been most of my life. Sorry if that is TMI... Tricia1285 5 Posted April 17, 2013 Music to my ears. I really hope I get the same results. I don't think I can take the stomach pains anymore. I even had to run out of a restaurant while on my honeymoon because I ate something that just went right through me.
sknyinside 99 Posted April 17, 2013 I too have IBS. I am just starting to jump through the insurance hoops. So it will be at least six months before have anything done. I am hoping that it helps my symptoms!
thinathart 197 Posted April 18, 2013 I don't want to say it "cured" my IBS, but it has really calmed it down. I'm almost 100% symptom free of it.

Kimmy1813 77 Posted April 19, 2013 I've never been banded either, but I've had IBS for the past couple of years. I'm hoping the sleeve will help my symptoms as well. I'm looking at a July surgery date, so it's still a little ways out for me
