Vixynne 695 Posted June 25, 2013 I'm sure it will be plenty of time for your pre-op diet--if your surgeon were concerned that it wasn't enough, he wouldn't schedule you, right? My surgeon doesn't require any pre-op diet; so look at it this way, you're getting six more days than any of his patients, and they do fine!

Vixynne 695 Posted June 25, 2013 You are so lucky!! I'm in day 6 and it's no easier. If I see another Protein shake or Jello cup I may scream lol Even though my surgeon didn't order it, I've been kind of doing my own pre-op thang for the last month and a half. I've had a Protein Shake for Breakfast faithfully every day, followed by a low-carb lunch like cottage cheese, and a healthy, small-portion dinner with lean Protein (chicken or fish), veggies and few to no carbs. I also gave up soda, coffee and all fast food. So far I'm down 16 pounds, so it must be helping!

Days 1-3 were miserable with caffeine withdrawals!
Rosehip 5 Posted June 25, 2013 Only have 1 cup of coffee a day and really don't want to give that up! :-) I really wish that I had done better at losing weight the last 3 months, totally fell into the food funeral mind set though. 1 megancd reacted to this

SpaceDust 585 Posted June 25, 2013 Could you please post what your meal plan is? Mine is for 1200 calories and I know I will not lose on that, I never have. I plan to start to or row. It's a week early but I need a jump on this. Sure. It's 3-4 Protein Shakes and a small dinner, to total no more than 870 calories. To ensure proper portion/calorie control, my dietician recommends using a frozen entrée like Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice.
wannabehealthy2 7 Posted June 25, 2013 Hi ladies I am having my surgery July 29th. Orginally planned on having the RNY on and was approved for it on July 29th but after doing more reasearch on what can happen to your body years after the procedure changed my mind on getting it done so i spoke with my surgeons office and they put in another request to my insurance carrier for the VSG and i was re approved two days later. On my lunch break today I go make final payment on my surgery. 2 SpaceDust and Dee White reacted to this

JillP 9 Posted June 25, 2013 I will find out my surgery date tomorrow and I am hoping it will be towards the end of July ... I am so excited to get it set (and a little scared). I am so ready to go both mentally and physically! Please let me know how everything is going with you all. 1 kw2walker reacted to this
Tracy2801 25 Posted June 25, 2013 I am on Day #2 of the liquid diet that Dr Kim requires. You can have basically anything that can fit in a straw...I bought some sugar free Jello and popsicles to help me however; I am still doing good...ask me by day #6 and I will also be sick of these shakes and no food. Buy Sonic ice if you have one by you...chew ice that will help with the "no" chewing....6 days until "d" day....very excited~ 2 kw2walker and MoonDancer63 reacted to this
abranewme 98 Posted June 25, 2013 Mine took 3 hours. I'm not sure if they are efficient or I'm just THAT fat lol Ok I just spit my juice from laughing at that comment! ROTF! 1 missyjoy2078 reacted to this
Vixynne 695 Posted June 25, 2013 That's awesome! I should have weaned off of coffee and caffeine before my pre op diet. Days 1-3 were miserable with caffeine withdrawals! It's going to sound weird, but y'know what helped me with caffeine? Taking about 1500mcg of sublingual B12 while giving up the coffee cold turkey. I don't know exactly why, but I can tell you it definitely worked like a charm. Not one headache or cranky/jittery feeling--and I'm someone who would get ALL of those if I missed my morning coffee by more than two hours. I don't even miss it--apart from wanting the taste, LOL. 1 kw2walker reacted to this
