mattsbelly 76 Posted April 17, 2013 You have to really make an effort to do this. I try chewing 25 times if it is a solid.
joatsaint 2,814 Posted April 17, 2013 One of the best things I have bought are the Glad 4oz. plastic bowls from Wal-Mart. It doesn't help slow my eating but I know that I can safely eat a bowlful and not overeat. It also makes the amount of food look bigger. It also makes it easier to stop eating, since I have to get up and go get more and heat it up if I really want more. The other day I was extra hungry for some reason and I at 6 bowls over the course of the day. That night I was worried and thinking, "Oh my god! I ate so much today!" And then I realized, I use to eat more in one meal than I did for that entire day. It really put things into perspective.
can't weight 8 Posted April 17, 2013 I found some cocktail forks and spoons at World Market that help with the eating slower because the bites are smaller. Also putting down your fork after every bite helps too. Good luck and practice lots!
