Vibration Plate?

Recommended Posts

I'm now 2 weeks post-op and have been exercising, with no problems, since about 4 days after surgery. So far just cycling in the gym and a lot of walking.

My usual gym workout also includes using a vibration plate, does anyone have any idea how long after surgery it would be ok to go back to this?

LOL... I thought perhaps this thread should have been in the ladies gone wild section, but I looked it up and, yep, there is a fitness vibration plate. Then before readin, the first thing that came to mind were the old vibration belts of the days gone by. Soooo.. with all that said.. I'm still clueless to be able to answer you, but thanks for enlightening me on the latest excercise gadget :D

Hey - these vibrators are the real deal. And they vibrate incredibly well. Lol.

Seriously now, I always see them for sale at the country fairs and am tempted to try one out. Never have though. They might work, but sounds kind of like a fad and good for hanging others off of. Have you had good success with these? If not, I would recommend the standard treadmill or ellyptical.

Brilliant marketing they are....useful for people with neurologic disorders or vestibular problems....but honestly about as productive as this with regard to weight loss:

I love my vibration plate (they are pretty common in all gyms over here), I use it after the bike and crosstrainer for toning and as well as muscle relaxation and it really works, fantastic for cellulite also!

Very funny Ms.AntiBand! I would have through that you guys in the states would know a lot more than me about the plate.

This is not for weight loss at all just very effective for toning, muscle relaxation and also great for cellulite.< /p>

They are very effective & safe if used correctly. I started a few weeks after my surgery & couldnt be happier with the results approx 8 mos post op. Whole body vibration machines work by contracting & releasing muscles & boosting circulation, just like any other exercise. The technology has been used by Russian & American space programs as well as rehab for athletes. You can find the machines in many chiropractors offices in my area as well. It is a valid therapy & is not the same thing as the old vibrating belts we see in the pics. The machines are class 2 medical devices & as such can be covered by insurance in certain situations. I would encourage anyone to try it. Nothing is for everyone, but many people will benefit from it & enjoy it

Thank you for the info ShortSleeve, it's great news if I can start using the plate again, just a few weeks after surgery.

I have had great results using the plate and can't wait to get back to it. I was just a bit concerned about the healing versus the vibrations.

I wonder if this is the same thing the Planet Fitness I joined has. I forget what it's called but it's like a booth you stand inside of. They told me about it when I joined. I'm going to check it out.

Let us know what kind of progress you get from using it both in terms of lost lbs and inches.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
