Hey guys, had surger on 4/10. Had trouble getting liquids in and throwing up. I was feeling very weak. Went to the ER on Sunday and they admitted me and I was just released today. Got some IVs in me. Still have trouble with throwing up some. Medicine never helped with that. The medicine always comes back up. I have found that warm tea helps to settle my stomach. I can't progress to the full liquids yet. Oh well, at least I am feeling somewhat better. I just want to make sure the throwing up stops!

I found in the beginning warm liquids went down easier. I'm 4 months out and still takes longer to get cold liquids down. For some reason warm is easy

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. You might want to get some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup to get some Protein in for when you are ok to proceed. Also, I used to add heated milk to my chocolate Protein shake and drink it like hot cocoa, it went down much easier and I got about 35 grams of Protein in an 8oz. cup.

Best of luck to you!! feel better.

I had this problem over a week. See if you can get a patch or zoforan prescriptions from your dr. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
