Just got off a two week stall and I am finally below 200. I can't recall the last time I was below 200 pounds and it feels great! I have 48 pounds to goal and I know I'll get there. I have been trying to think of what has been the toughest part of this journey and I don't have a solid comment. I've had ups and downs, pain here and there, frustrations and celebrations but I'm always moving forward. I don't let the stalls get to me and when I'm in one I don't change anything. I just keep going and wait them out.

I'm an average loser and I'm ok with that. My biggest issue is tightening up all this flabby skin. I'm almost at 4 months and learn something new all the time. Anyone have any great ideas for toning legs and butt? Let's not forget my flabby stomach either!

So thankful for the sleeve and how much I've changed. I still see the old me in the mirror but the new me is starting to show up too. Good luck to everyone and remember .... it's a journey. You'll have good days and bad but WAY more good days!

Decembersleever

59 lbs in 3 and a half months???

i think thats a "little" better than average :)

you've done great!!!! :)

when you/me were born - i always said "when i grow up i want to be in onderland!! :D "

you did it!!!!

ups and downs???

if we didn't have few bumps in the road, how boring would life be

as far as extra skin!!!

its true what "they" say that the loose skin tightens up a bit as time passes

the younger you are the better things "end up"

I'm "alittle" bit of an older "fart" - but my skin still tighten up a bit

still have loose skin of course - amazingly, only very little as far as tummy (i never had rolls or anything) :)

most of my skin is in thighs and rear end that "dropped"

i seriously don't know where my tushy went

anyone that has seen it - if you want it, its available - no charge

congrats on all your success today, tomorrow and for the rest of your longer, healthier, happier life :)

keep up the great work!!!

congrats

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
