The surgery went well with no complications. The first two weeks I lost one pound a day. Week three I lost nothing. And now in week four I am gaining weight!!! I am so sad and disappointed and scared I altered my whole life for nothing. Im still earing mostly soft food and liquids and walking at least 30 min a day. What am I doing wrong? Has anyone else experienced weight gain after surgery??? I'm dying to know of I'm the only one and what can be done or do I need to contact my doctor? Omg so disappointed!!!

give it time. Keep up with all the rules. get your fluids in. Some weeks you will not loose anything and then you will loose a bunch!

I stalled between weeks 3-4 and broke it the 4th week. I dropped 5 pounds. Sometimes when the scale isn't moving you are really losing inches. I thought something was wrong with me and talked to my Doctor about it because I thought maybe I was eating too much - he said I was actually eating too little. I get around roughly 600-650 calories a day (he also said don't worry about that either because it will increase on its own.) Less than 40 carbs, and very little fat probably about 3-5g give or take a few. The first thing he said is stop weighing myself everyday. Pick one day of the week and weigh and I did and it has been SOOOOO much more rewarding. The scale will drive you crazy. I am a few days over 6 weeks out. Also Fluid is important. You can search on this site "stall at week 3" or "week 3 stall" very common at that time. Hope it breaks soon. Continue on the right path! Good luck!

I just got on here to post the same complaint. It's so frustrating! I didn't lose anything week 3, and I have been gaining and loosing the same 5lbs for the last 2 weeks!

OVER IT!

When I left the liquids are started the softs/mushies. I gained 4lbs in a couple days.... i didn't think about it too much. Figured at some point the weight would come off. It has, it just took a week or so. I think its a time of the month thing, I seem to gain 2 weeks before and it takes a bit to lose it. The sleeve will work if you let it. Don't get hung up on the numbers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
