I know I have them but what are some symptoms? I ate about 1 oz of venison sausage today and have felt very off since about an hr after. Like it just won't digest. And it's been about 6 hrs. I have nausea and a constant pain. I am 8 mos post. But I am also 8 mos pregnant so we are waiting to do surgery til after I have the baby. I'm just hoping the constant nausea and aches will subside after surgery.

Its like a sharp stabbing pain just below your rib cage - you will have episodes where after a meal (often fatty or sweet) you feel like your are having a heart attack - think worse than labour pains. During which if u press down on where the pain is it will be very painful. Nausea usually accompanies the attacks as well and can cause you to vomit.

it took forever for me to figure out i had galstones.. but my symptoms occured at random times.. not every time i ate something greasy or spicy.. when i did get them they would last anywhere from 4-10 hours. the paid sure did feel worse then labor. it felt like i had a horse sitting on my chest. the you do feel nauseated, and feel like you need to have a bowel movement but it just doesnt happen. i got chills-- and no matter what i did it didnt go away. then randomly poof the pain was gone... From what the dr told me it was because when you eat greasy, fatty or spicy foods it causes the stones to move around in there, and occasionally they will get lodged in the tube- and when that happens thats when you get the pain until the small stone passes through the tube... i ended up having my gal bladder removed and have been in heaven since... hope this helps

How often would u get the attacks? I had 2-3 over a weekend and nothing since for 2 weeks now. I'm hoping they will stay away for good because I really want to avoid another op!! Its funny how the pain just randomly stops huh!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
