Ok I tried using the search function but couldn't come up with an answer. I would just like to know how many carbs I should be eating a day. I don't eat any grains but things like Beans and crab also have carbs. I'm almost 3 months out and want to make sure I'm not overdoing it with the carbs! Thanks!

My docs say no carbs at all but dont think it can be done. I sometimes only take in 10 carbs a day and others it can be more.

My program doesn't have a carb restriction - they only care about me hitting my Fluid and Protein goals.

That said, they also want me to always approach my food choices from a Protein first, then vegetables, then starchy carbs (if there's any room left).

According to myfitnesspal I average 50g of carbs or less (with an occasional spike) per day.

I've finished week #14 and am in week #15 with no stalls to date.

I was told not to worry about carbs too much...just make sure the carbs I take in are complex carbs....they keep you fuller longer...

Ok, that's what my nut told me too. I hit 100 carbs today and thought that was a lot, but when I went back and looked I usually hit around 50, somedays 20. I guess I just panicked when I saw the 100 for today in MFP, it looked like a lot. I ate a lot of Beans today and they added up! Thank you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
