Oh, and if you like the coordinator and trust them is a huge deal. I watched a fellow patient totally get screwed over by a coordinating agency regarding her hotel while I was being discharged.

Can not and will not speak on other surgeons but i used Dr. Alejandro Lopez and i site his first name Bc there is another Dr. Lopez.....he did mt surgery at Mi Doctor and I an happy with my results, my driver Abraham and Eduardo. They were all very attentive to me and my needs. I would recommend them. I am a lawyer and know te ramifications of the hearsay on these threads. People need to be very careful wht they say in print. Be mindful also that for many of these doctors it is also about feeding and providing for their families. I am sure you would not want ppl to spread gossip and untruths about you in your profession even if you are a stay at home mom....that is your profession. Likewise, the statements about "having proof" unless it is your own experience and or you were there it is still hearsay. If anyone would like to inbox me about my own personal experience with Dr. Lopez, and Dr. Ortiz I will be happy to answer questions.

I had surgery in Oct 2012 with Dr Lopez in Puerta Vallarta, the hospital is new, clean and quiet. Nursing staff were great, only evening staff didnt speak much english. Noticed they didnt wear gloves but washed hands. Dr Lopez and wife Dr Osuna were great, I had no problems after surgery. The hotel was very nice. Anakaren was the co ordinator for Dr Lopez and she was around if I ever needed her. What I liked about being in PV was that I was Dr Lopez's only surgery that day and he had only two the day. before.I have no complaints what so ever, some of the remarks on here just take with a grain of salt. If you want I have Anakarens number and she's his co ordinator and nutritionist in Pv and Guadalajara, so you can call her and ask her any questions about Dr Lopez. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
