jensjoy28 351 Posted April 13, 2013 First post...have my surgery scheduled for May 8...been having fun thinking of the little things that I will get to enjoy/leave behind after surgery How about you? What are you looking forward to? Again...these aren't meant to be the "big things" that are health-related... Buying a pair of designer jeans Being able to buy boots that zip up the side Not having to wear bras that could provide shelter for a small child Not having thigh rash from pantyhose rubbing Not having to strategically place a magazine over my lap so that the flight attendant doesn't realize my seatbelt isn't fastened on take-off and landing Not having to look at the load limit on a step stool 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
sharonintx 1,275 Posted April 13, 2013 haha! Good one about the bra! I'm looking forward to systematically getting rid of all my clothes and replacing them with new ones. I'm looking forward to seeing what the scale will say 6 months from now. I must admit I will enjoy seeing the looks on peoples faces when they notice me shrinking up before their eyes. A new bathing suit would be just great about 4 sizes smaller than usual. 2 jensjoy28 and ProudGrammy reacted to this
LiggleLiggle 84 Posted April 13, 2013 I am going zip lining in June and perhaps 6 flags and maybe.....well you get the idea
makemyownluck 785 Posted April 13, 2013 I'm getting sleeved May 2nd! I'm looking forward to going places without worrying where I can fit - this includes sitting in a restaurant booth. I want to see how people react, I'm curious to see how some people I know act toward me when I'm thinner, how/if people will ask me about it or comment on it. I can't wait to buy clothes in any store I want to! I want to be able to wear cuter shoes. And cuter clothes! And I used to get a fair amount of attention from men when I was thinner, so I'm hoping that will start happening again, too. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

NancyDec20 212 Posted April 13, 2013 well some thing I was looking forward to and have done.. is fitting in a booth and not touching the table at all with my body.. was like OMG .. and next on my list.. is flying without an extension belt.. I will see how that is when I leave for my cruise may 10th and fly out.. and I can bend down and not the golfers pose either.. squat down and pick something up... I still feel like I might fall over but Im not used to bending that way..and then crossing the leg is new for me too..and omg today.. realization hit me at the store.. I had to get new scrubs.. everyone is teasing me about mine.. like my husband calling them clown pants..and one lady said..gee they look like your older brothers hand me downs that are too big..and the other one is that looks like a dress on you.. well I went to try on some..and my hubby is like NOT those.. they are too big.. im like no they arent. .he is like THEY ARE TOO BIG.. im like ok what do you think.. he is like large.. im like HUH? Im like no way.. he is like try them on.. I did.. and im like OMG OMG.. am I that small now where its not a plus size? I was shocked..and still am.. its not sinking in.. that Im small enough for a large. im used to the xxx and the numbers with xl 2x 3x.. but im not..and thats hard to take.. I wanted to cry... so many things I look forward to.. yes amusement parks... would love to go.. maybe in a few months.. I dunno.. but so many things have changed and happened to me.. good luck to everyone.. no regrets here at all... I dont care how much of my hair falls out.. its worth it. ))) 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
extracat 14 Posted April 13, 2013 I want to buy clothes in normal stores like Kohl's or even Wal-Mart. I have to buy all my shirts at Catherine's which is a plus size store. I want to fit in an airplane seat and not have people look at me like, "Please, God, don't let her sit next to me" on a plane. I want to fit in stadium/theater seats easily. I want to wear shoes other than my Z-coils. I want to be able to cross my legs. I want to look in a mirror and feel good about myself. And my dream is to fit into the jeans I wore in high school that I've kept for all these years. 2 ProudGrammy and makemyownluck reacted to this
