free2live 6 Posted May 24, 2013 All done. How did you go freetolive? Surgery was Tuesday, and they sent us ( my husband and I ) home on Thursday. I'm so glad they kept us that extra day. We had to wait in recovery almost 6 hrs because all the beds were full on the bariatric floor. 8hrs after surgery I wasn't able to urinate so they had to straight cath me. After that I was able to go, but didn't have the urge until later that night. I also didn't get much fluids in during the hospital stay but glad we had the IV fluids going. Our surgeon also puts in a JP drain tube on everyone but that was removed the day we came home. Right now I'm dealing with terrible back pain, they think it could have been the way I was positioned in surgery. My incisions are a little sore but nothing unbearable. I made a shake this morning that I'm sipping on, it's one they made for us in the hospital and I really liked it. I have four incisions and a bandage over where the drain was. We slept in recliners at home last night and that was pretty comfortable. How did your surgery go, and how are you feeling?
