LovinCheryl 22 Posted April 13, 2013 When I was in recovery I had no drain, no foley. Is that normal? I had prepared my family for that but nothing. I know this could be a blessing in disguise but was curious. I am at 30 oz a liquid but improved everday.

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted April 13, 2013 Some doctors use a drain some don't. Some doctors use a foley, some don't. My doctor only uses a foley if she thinks the surgery will be extra long. She always uses a drain. The use of drain and foley are two questions I asked when finding surgeons.. I wanted one that didn't use the foley but did use a drain. butterfly_gal 151 Posted April 13, 2013 Just depends on the surgeon. I had a drain for a week after surgery. No catheter though.
lilbearzmom 584 Posted April 13, 2013 So funny how sugeons are so different and there's no right way or wrong way. I had a foley but no drain. -Kendra 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
