Is this usual. I've lost 85 lbs. my remaining weight is my stomach or belly. It's still very firm only some loose skin along the sides. Is this fat still or something else will it ever get to where it's just loose skin and not how hard it is now? I'm going for follow up Monday to the surgeon. But was just curious

I have lost 75 pounds so far and have the same thing. I would be curious to know what your surgeon says. I also have the flab on the top of my legs and knees, but I know more exercise will help that. Congratulations on losing 85 lbs!

I also lost weight in legs first and in butt. The last to go is my stomach. I thought it was because I am diabetic. Are you both diabetic?

I have about 60lbs to get to goal and it seems like 90% of that weight is in my stomach and love handles. Its so frustrating because my arms, chest, shoulders and legs look great (been lifting weights since week 3) but my stomach is still pretty big and sticks out slightly more then my chest.

Apples, like me, are typical diabetic bodies! I've only lost 30 so fat, but I've noticed that rock hard tire around my upper belly is softer and more pliable! My bird legs are a lot birdier and have sagging skin in my upper inner thighs and a little over my knees! Wish I'd done this 20 years ago!

I am 60lbs from goal too, but my boobs finally stick out further than my stomach! I only measured the biggest part of my stomach pre surgery, but even at 30 lbs down I've lost 5 1/2 inches.. Amazes me how large it was before!!!!!

No, I am not diabetic, but my doctor told me I was borderline diabetic before surgery. Another reason for having it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
