It's been a common belief that caffeine will dehydrate you but recent research has shown that to be false except in very large quantities (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/caffeinated-drinks/AN01661) and as my regular PCP put it there is more Water in the coffee or tea than the caffeine in it will expel. So it may not be quite as "hydrating" it isn't dehydrating.
