Can I ask how much weight you still have to lose?

Wow you are so close after only 6 months, that is so great! You have lost 77% of your excess weight, that is quite an accomplishment in only 6 months.

I have read this "Many swear by the fat/calorie shock as an effective weight loss stall or plateau buster. Having a day of higher fat and calorie eating followed by a returning to consistent low carb high Protein eating can sometimes "shock" your body back into weight loss mode."

I have also read going back to the beginning helps. But I can only tell you what I have read. Good luck.

I think that because of our "addictive" personalities it an easy thing to do... I notice that I spend to much time on this forum. I tell myself it will be only temporary because I get bored easily,

But I'm still here months later.. I went camping this week, it was good because it helped me put things into perspective.

Perhaps devoting some of your "down" hours to anything but those vices you just mentioned?

Even saying "ok for 1 hour a day I will not touch these thing I will do something that involves moving" It can be as easy as walking or cleaning the house.

Addictive personalities can get addicted to ANYTHING!!!! This is a big problem for me, too. I tend to get obsessive about things: hobbies, interests, whatever. Do you have a therapist? That would be a help to you.

Thank you Kimmie! It's been 9 months. Very inspirational I needed that. I will give it a try. It'll probably be back to the basics ( yuck )

I do have a therapist. I'm working on guided imagery right now problem is I cannot relax long enough to do it. I'm really stuck this time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
