Oops, hit send too soon. Darn iPhone.

So the Qs,

I haven't been put on any kind of pre-op diet, other than the day before surgery. Anyone know why? Should I be worried?

Secondly, how have people's tattoos done with all the weight loss? Do they still look ok?

Thanks folks. April 22nd,

I'm only almost three weeks out but I've lost about 60 pounds and so far all my tattoos look the same. I have one on the back of my neck, one in the middle of my back, one on my hip, one on my foot and one on my ankle. I got them intentionally in places so that I could gain or lose weight and hopefully they wound't change much. I would guess that location of the tattoo would have a lot to do with how much it would change.

I don't have a clue why they did no preop diet other than the day before. I was not so lucky and got to do a two week preop diet. Maybe they didn't figure you needed it?

The pre op diet is based on your Drs needs only. Some do it some do not.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
