CoreyCan 95 Posted April 12, 2013 I started taking the chewable vitamins (Opurity orange/berry) and can hardly chew and swallow them now (they're nasty ) I can't imagine getting them down after the surgery (next wednesday ). Oh and they're huge! I've tried liquid Alive ...no chance! That was REALLY gross. Any suggestions? I really need to order something else soon for next week. 12345 80 Posted April 12, 2013 I used to take the Gummy multi-Vitamins but my nutritionist said not to take them in gummy form. Something about they can't produce all the necessary minerals in gummy form so they're left out by the manufacturer. I now take multi-Vitamin MINIS made by Nature Made. They're not super small but better than chewables! The chewables ARE nasty. I like Bariatric Advantage's Calcium caramel chews. They taste like candy. (They really do!) 1 FeeIsMe2 reacted to this

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted April 12, 2013 Talk to your doctor and see when you can take capsules. I was cleared to take them as soon as I wanted and I have been taking Bariatric Advantage capsules since one week out. You take six small capsules a day. I can swallow two of them with just my own saliva.. and I just take them throughout the day with my Calcium pills. I can't STAND chewables YUCK.. even as a kid I wouldn't even chew flintstones and insisted on swallowing a "proper" Vitamin. Also usually the swallowable kind generally have more good stuff in it that they can't get into the chewable version due to palatability. I got them on Amazon for around 40.00 for a three month supply (540 capsules) ALSO, since we're having the sleeve which provides full absorption, my unprofessional opinion is that we probably don't NEED all six pills each day once we're eating a full diet again. I'm planning on cutting down to four pills a day once I start eating more veggies again.
CoreyCan 95 Posted April 13, 2013 Thanks Serendipity, I'm definitely going to try them. I just can't imagine chewing any Vitamins after surgery yuck!
