Does anyone get the sensation of nausea when thinking of eating?

Recommended Posts

There are somedays (like today) that the thought if eating makes me super nauceous. It isn't like this everyday, but the thought of food makes me sick. Even if I am a bit hungry I just can't make myself eat. Anyone else have an issue like this?

I thought I was the only one that gets this feeling!

I think it's because eating is so hard these days, so the discomfort or the feeling of discomfort starts automatically as a response to 'hunger'... OR is it actual stomach acid or gas from the prep to eat something?

Not much I can do, as this is all in my head, and I need the nutrients. So, I start the first bite or sip, and wait for a bit for the feeling to subside, then continue.

Hang in there, I think once it is easier to eat down the road, it will go away.

Keep us posted!

I am three months out. I talked to my NUT about it and she told me to push through. The weird thing is that there is no discomfort. The thought of food somedays just makes me want to vomit.

Me too, me too, me too!!!!!! I'm only 2 weeks out, but there are days when I realize it's 1 o'clock and I have not eaten. Then I start thinking about it and immediately get sick. It's so frustrating.

Yes I get this. It only really happens to me in the morning. I find myself skipping Breakfast a lot even though I know I shouldn't. It just makes me feel too sick to eat in the morning. But the evenings are fine

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
