Hi! Well I started at 220 and now I've been stuck at 165 since January. I would love to be 155 but I am actually perfectly happy at 165. Plus I haven't been 155 since high school and that is over 20 years ago! I have to admit that I am still really scared that the weight will come back because I have been fat and skinny, now, 5 times. But hopefully by having the surgery it will eliminate this. That is my hope.

I'm 5'8" and was 237 starting my pre-op diet in January. Surgery day 2/4/13 I was 223.5. Today I am 200.2. This is my lowest weight in 9 years! Hope to keep losing 10lbs. a month. Believe it is do-able with exercise. (Thank you Jillian Michaels!)

Goal weight is 145 (college weight). It's been 20 YEARS since I have weighed in the 140s.

The weight is becoming less important to me than my fitness and how my clothes are fitting. Those are more exciting measures to me than a number on the scale.

I'm 5'4", started at 320 lbs and now at 185 lbs (goal weight is 135 lbs). I have not been this weight since I was 17 yrs old (now 43). I can't even tell you how many inches I've lost right now (my charts are at home and I'm at work), but I started with a 54" waist and now I have a 36" waist........

I'm 5'7". Starting weight was 251 and am at goal at 165. Took 9 months to get there. My original goal was 150, but I am very happy where I am and think I would look way gaunt any thinner. My doctor, family and friends agree.

I like how I look in my clothes, I just try not to dwell on how I look naked

I was 5'7", but at my pre-op apt they said I was only 5'6". wish I could shrink the width rather than height. anyway my surgery was Jan 21, 2013. weighed 232. as of today I weigh 204. 28 pounds total lost. 15 the first month, 10 the second month and only 3 so far the 3rd month. I'm really, really frustrated.

I'm 5'8" and my highest weight ever was 275 in 2010. I was sleeved on 3/25/13 and weighed 246 and now I'm at 235. My initial goal is 175, and will re-evaluate when I get there. I think I will probably reach for 155 (I'm 44).

I'm just under 5'7". My high weight was 255, weight on surgery day was 252, current weight (as of this morning!) is 234. I'm thrilled with 18 lbs lost in two weeks, since surgery was 3/28/13.

I haven't done measurements yet, but am going to try to do them tonight. I didn't do pre-op measurements but have them from two days post-op at the nutritionist's office.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
