lilbearzmom 584 Posted April 10, 2013 I guess that makes me a HUGE failure then, because I have only lost 58 lbs since surgery almost 16 weeks ago. I'm kidding, of course, I am pretty pleased with my results, and you should be too. Really all that matters is that you are happy with your progress! -Kendra 3 TES, ProudGrammy and PJinWashington reacted to this

enigmachik 403 Posted April 10, 2013 If this doctor was serious you should get a new doctor. You've lost an average of over 5lbs a week! What I wouldn't give to have losses like that. You have done fantastic and you deserve a doctor who will support you. You have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to feel bad about. Keep it up!! 3 TES, PJinWashington and ProudGrammy reacted to this
SpaceDust 585 Posted April 10, 2013 Is this doctor new to weight loss surgery results? He seems to not realize that everyone is a little different, and that there are variations in metabolism. I would be happy to lose that much in my first 9 weeks! 2 TES and PJinWashington reacted to this
alobri 73 Posted April 10, 2013 What an ass, today I went for my weighing per-op and lost 3 lbs and they Celebrate me like crazy. You are on the right path. DO NOT allow this to set you back. Keep up the good work. 1 TES reacted to this
SMO 193 Posted April 10, 2013 My surgeon expresses his expectations in terms of percentage of excess weight at certain points. I am about 9 weeks out and have lost 43 pounds- 27 since surgery or about 25% of my excess weight. She wants me to be at 30% at 12 weeks. That is 4 more pounds. Some doctors are just jerks. 50 pounds is huge. How much of your excess weight is that? I bet it is significant. 1 TES reacted to this
It'sNowOrNever 100 Posted April 10, 2013 My doctor is Dr. Kim in celebration Florida he says he refuses to speak about the numbers it's about weight-loss surgery being a tool to help lose weight. Your dr sounds like a jerk of a man
LifetimeLoser 208 Posted April 10, 2013 Yeah I don't know what your dr. Is talking about!!! Is this your surgeon? Every time I go to my surgeon he seems pretty happy with my weight loss and I have not been losing 5 pounds a week. He never really says anything about the numbers as long as I feel good, I have no complications and the scale is going down. I think you should continue being happy with your progress. I just try to remind myself that even if someone is a dr. Doesn't mean they were top of their class. He could have barely passed his schooling which is scary. I have full faith in my surgeon and he seems the type that had all a's...haha so keep your head up. You are doing great and it will continue on your own body's time schedule. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
