First day back to work....

Recommended Posts

I am a teacher and this is my first day back to work after I was sleeved Eight days ago. I feel sweaty and dizzy. Tomorrow I move on to the full liquids faze. Will I feel much better when I move out of Clear Liquids? I know my bp is dropping, which is good because I have been on three Meds for it. I just need to know when it gets easier!

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FIRST DAY BACK TO WORK. I AM 3 WEEKS POST OP AND I WENT BACK TO WORK LAST WEEK. IT WAS A BIT DIFFICULT FOR ME . I AM A BARTENDER SO LONG HOURS ON YOUR FEET. BUT I GOT THRU IT AND I WILL BE BACK TO WORK TODAY AGAIN . I THINK YOU WILL HAVE MORE ENERGY ONCE YOU GO TO FULL liquids. I WAS ABLE TO EAT PEREE FOODS THE DAY I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. I THINK THE Protein GIVES OUR BODY ENERGY . I STILL HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE REQUIREMENTS IN BUT I AM TRYING EVERYDAY A LITTLE MORE. I AM ALSO GET TIRED EASIER BUT I KNOW IT TAKES TIME TO RECOOP FROM THAT SURGERY. I WISH YOU THE BEST AND KNO U WILL DO JUST FINE...GOOD DAY TO YOU!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the encouragement and for sharing your experience. I do think puréed foods would help! I also had a hiatal hernia repair on the same day, so I am recovering from two surgeries :( . Good luck to you too! We have very different t jobs but we both have to be energetic and thinking clearly!

I also teach and it was SO hard going back! Teaching is so physically and emotionally draining all on its own and recovering from major surgery makes it so much harder! As you progress in your eating, you will feel better and better. Until then, just prepare yourself mentally for the exhaustion and fatigue. It'll be better before you know it!

Thank you so much for sharing. It is hard on any day to be a teacher. But this is just over the top! I am staying positive knowing this is temporary!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
