I was sleeved on April 3 and everything has been fine up until now. Now I don't know if it's because I have been off my Zoloft or maybe just the emotional journey of the surgery but I am feeling very down and defeated at the moment. I drinking more than 1 oz And still not feeling full/satisfied which scares me!!! Anybody on the same track? :/ I have lost 20lbs which should make me feel like I'm on cloud 9 but the feeling is just not there!

Are you still on liquids? You won't feel restriction from your sleeve until you are on solids or at least purees. hang in there...the first few weeks are tough, but totally worth it. Congratulations on 20 lbs gone forever!

Why are you off your zoloft? You need to take it.

A lot of people have the "WTF's" a week or so after surgery. Give it some time, okay? You won't feel restriction until you get to more solid foods. Try to relax and do the things that your Dr. and nutritionist want you do. It's going to be good, I swear :)

Hell my WTF's lasted through week 4. I felt no restriction on liquids at all, pissed me off, but realized meh, it's liquids so there won't be any restriction. You'll feel restriction from drinking too fast as the liquid tries to funnel down your swollen stomach, but that'll go away soon.

Thank you. I definitely feel like this is my wtf week! All the replies are making me a lot better knowing its not just me going through this alone.

Same happened to me. I will be a month out in 2 days. But the first 2 weeks I was kinda depressed. I cried a lot and then got kinda angry. We soon later found out it was from withdrawals . So I had to get back on my meds immediately . You will bounce back. Congrats!

Zoloft is NOT an option...especially while you're going through all of this! I'm glad you're back on. This is emotional enough without missing doses. I'm only 11-12 days out (it's the middle of the night), and it's still hard, but I feel MUCH better than I did just a few days ago. One day at a time....

I think some people just get a bit depressed after surgery. I read it can have something to do with the anesthesia. I didn't have any complications and I've lost 40 pounds but I was like, "eh, so what. I don't care." Finally around week 5 that feeling started to lift and I feel better mentally. So hang in there!! Just keep moving forward.

I had a week or two of WTF. I was angry at everything I got off the pain meds. After a period I felt better Emotionally. I am 6 weeks out. I feel great and calmer than before the surgery. Also I would tell anyone take your antidepressants. If my family member wanted to get this surgery

I will tell them up front to take your meds afterwards that the surgeon agrees to.

Feel better soon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
