I was sleeved on March 19 and have been at a stall for 12 days.. I'm shocked to hear it could last 7 weeks... :((

7 weeks??!!! Oh noooo! That would be awful! I'm going into my 2nd week of being stalled. I have a dr appt on Friday. Anxious to see what he says. Continued success on your journey!!

So glad I found this thread. I was sleeved 3/18 n my first post-op appt was last week n I had lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. I was elated. Today I didnt have an appt but had to stop by my drs office to pick up a paper n decided to weigh myself. Only lost 3lbs since last week. I know thats good but I feel it should be more. Now reading thru this thread I see alot of ppl hit a 3 week stall. This is y I refuse to buy a scale. Lol

I was also wondering about daily calorie intake. I average 400-600 calories daily. Waiting on my NUT to advise me on this. I also track my Protein n I'm getting my 60 grams of Protein in. I try to eat high protein foods such as eggs' date=' cottage cheese n Beans.[/quote']

Yes many of us have hit a stall and it is so frustrating!! Hoping it lets up very soon. Wishing you continued success on your journey!!

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I'm definitely getting in healthy fats (except nuts...I'm still scared to eat them after reading some horror stories on here!!) Oh how I want a glass of OJ!! I think I have to wait a couple weeks! *insert sad face* Can't wait until the scale starts moving south!! Continued success on your journey.

If you're wanting orange juice but you're worried about sugar, carbs, acid, etc. the way I was then maybe ask your nutritionist about (or try on your own) Tropicana Trop50. It's only 50 calories for an 8 ounce serving plus it has added Calcium and Vitamin D that we need anyway. I usually have 4 ounces with 4 ounces of Water to cut the acidity and it cures my orange juice cravings. Also, it is GREAT for mixing with my unflavored Protein powder for my own low calorie Orange Julius type treat.

If you like nuts but portion sizes or calories worry you, they do have individual packages of them at the grocery stores. I worried about trying them because I didn't know how I'd tolerate them post-stricture, but half an individual serving of almonds is a great snack! And if you're a chocolate fan, they have chocolate covered ones for 100 calories a serving. :)

Stalls are frustrating, it's true. But I've found that a slight increase in calories (not carbs or unhealthy ones!), Protein, and Water usually breaks them. And be sure to take measurements because when the scale stops moving, your tape measure usually starts! I wish you much luck and success!! :)

So I just went to the store and purchased ALL of the Trop50! Ok not all but I did buy 3!! I've always avoided it because I thought it would taste like chalk but it is very tasty!! I'm going to stay away from the nuts for a while longer but I will look for them later.

Yes, this stall is frustrating. I'm looking at the calories, fat, carbs, protein I'm getting in everyday and I KNOW the weight should be falling off but that stupid scale won't move!! Thanks to this wonderful forum, I know it's a part of the process so I'm trying (but failing miserably) to be patient. Thanks for your advice!! Continued success to you!

I haven't seen that one. I did find the strawberry and grape crush packets today someone was talking about on one of the forums. I also got some trop 50 OJ and it's pretty tasty :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
