Heh, we are going to have to start talking about food Porn and the Bermuda Triangle of Sugary Goodness again (sounds like a good book title). At least while Laura is away camping. :) <evil grin> Apologies to those that missed the original romp a few days ago.

Today I had my month 9 follow up with the WLS Center.

Here are some of the key results:

Height: 5'11"

July 2nd' date=' 2012

Weight: 360 lb

BP: 148 / 102

SP02: 98%

Pulse: 64

BMI: 46

Body Fat %: 37%

Pant Size: 46

April 9, 2013

Weight: 182

BP: 110 / 71

SP02: 99%

Pulse: 44 <~~~~~~~~

BMI: 26

Body Fat %: 20%

pant size: 32

It has been quite the experience. In a good way. My life is so much fuller now and I really enjoy staying active and making good nutrition decisions.

The nurse gave me a "gold star". Happy dance. YAY!

She also wants me to get my heart rate checked out because it is so low. Wants to rule out some things. Take a look and let me know if there is any reason for concern. I have a lot of energy daily, but do fade to black on occasion when standing from a seated position.

I am thrilled with what WLS has given me. It is also a joy to help others here on VST.[/quote']

Wowza! You rocked that sleeve!

They key is I did not have to figure out anything. :)

The WLS Center has an expensive scale that can read a lot of these biometrics through metal bars that we grip.

I image the scale is zapping me with little electric pulses to measure Fat Refraction Index (FRI). Lol. Made that term up, but I think it works like that. It has been very accurate in returning body fat percentages since I started pre op 12 months ago with them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
