Making up a goal

Recommended Posts

I'd like to set a weightloss goal weight for June 1st, but how does one go about setting a realistic but not too easy/obvious goal? I was sleeved march second.

Gw 173? That's 25 lbs down in the next 8 weeks. Think that's too much for me?

Watch me hit my 3 week stall right now and throw me all off. Lol

I like to do weekly goals..

I started at 221 day of surgery I was sleeved on the 6th of March I am also currently at 198.

I like to record weekly weigh ins and measurements.

I am giving myself 3-4 lbs a week as a goal. I make sure to take in my Protein and hit the gym 4-5 times a week.. I also make sure to get in the sauna the night before my weigh in day and a second time throughout the week, really gets rid of that excess Water.. :-)

Personally I would not set a pounds lost goal because the amount of weight you lose in any given period of time is up to your body and not completely within your control.

Instead, I would set goals that are within your control. For example, make a goal that between now and June 1st you will reach your Water and Protein goals every day. Or between now and then you will exercise at least four days a week or you won't go over "x" amount of carbs or you'll do 30 minutes of walking a day etc... Set goals that are a challenge to you, but are within your control.

When you set a weight goal, you run the risk of being disappointed if you miss it by a small amount even if you did everything right as far as macros and exercise goes. When you pick goals within your control, the weight loss will come as a benefit of being healthy and you set yourself up for success! Good Luck!!

I haven't really set any goals. I don't know if that's a bad thing or not. The reason I haven't is because I feel like I only have marginal control over how much I lose, and plateaus are so annoyingly common. My weight loss is so stair-step and not at all predictable, so I am one of those people who is hesitant to set concrete goals...

I don't k know what to do with that information. Lol. Is that good, bad, !?

I think you're right though, I'll set attainable goals. Makes a lot more sense.

It's an aggressive goal. I'm sorry, I actually meant to add that to my post.

I don't set weight goals because as long as I'm doing everything I can, I'm doing everything I can and can't impact a weight goal any more than I already am. (that wasn't supposed to be a riddle, lol). I focus on getting in Water, Protein, calories, the "rules", etc. Every time I think I should be to a certain weight, I am disappointed..so I quit that :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
