How to get through an all-day meeting?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on March 25 and am on puree/semi-soft diet. I have an all-day meeting this Friday and I'm trying to figure out how to get my food in. It's a typical business meeting agenda - start at 9, and will probably go like this: break around 10:30 - 11 for 15 minutes, lunch at 12 or 12:30 for 30 - 45 minutes, another break at 2 - 2:30 and wrap up at 4. I will have no problems with my liquids, as I will be able to drink all day. I plan to bring all of my food with me and eat a little something at each break, but obviously can't rush it.

Has anyone had to deal with this at this stage? Any suggestions are appreciated!

You have the right idea, you're planning for it. One of your drinks can be a shake or other Protein Drink if you want to make sure you're getting in your Protein and be able to take your time with it. I'm pretty sure one of the Naked drinks is high protein, but not sure what the other nutritional content is.

Can you drink during the meetings? Have a couple Protein Drinks during the meeting and then you won't need to eat as much on your breaks. Good luck!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
