Foods that keep you full?

To all you post sleevers, at the point that you can start eating anything, what foods do you find fill you up best and keep you full the longest?

Dense Proteins like steak and chicken breast do it for most people try to get some veggies in along there or you'll be sorry..

Dense high Protein foods are the key. chicken breast, lean ground beef and turkey, heavier fish like swordfish. Those are the foods that keep you full and they are also what you are supposed to eat first.

Ok, so I get the dense Proteins. And I know I need veggies and want them but not sure why I will be sorry if I don't eat them?? What other foods. Especially Breakfast foods? I have been eating plain greek yogurt but it's not really working for me anymore now that I have pretty much progressed to trying to eat anything. I love the yogurt and love all the Protein in it but it doesn't keep me full for long at all. So advice on breakfast foods and any other foods other than the dense proteins that you listed?

I'm still in my soft foods stage, lots of people have a pureed stage which I do not get per my NUT. I eat soft scrambled eggs. I usually add some cottage cheese and scramble it with the cottage cheese for a little added Protein and "fluff" of my eggs. I top with a little reduced fat cheese and it is really yummy. It stays with me for a while too. I also like refried Beans, again with some cottage cheese added in for the extra protein and topped with low fat cheese. That usually keeps me full for a while too. I can't wait to actually get to eat some protein that I really have to chew again though. I am ready for fish, chicken, beef, what ever! I get some baked fish in another two and a half weeks or so and I'm super pumped about that!

I am eating dense foods such as ground chicken or turkey and I find that after I eat my 3 oz. it is really hard to try to get any veggies in because I am starting to feel full. Anyone else have this issue? I am worried about only getting in Protein and no fruits or veggies which I know I need to help with the big BM.

Dense Protein and no Fiber will get you super constipated figured you'd know lol

I eat Protein about every 2-3 hours, usually breakfast is a Protein Shake, with fruit or a little peanut butte. I also started doing a fried egg on a 100 calorie wheat english muffin with a slice of cheese, that is around 19 gms of protein and very filling, I usually can't finish.

Then around 10:30 I have a greek yogurt or apple with Peanut Butter. keep mixing things up or your body adapts to what you are eating. I average about 100-120 gms of protein a day, and in order to do that I have to eat 5 times a day :)

For breakfast I will eat eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon and yogurts.... I have to keep my diet low of carbs because when I eat a carb, I will gain a couple of pounds, and it could be Water weight but I'm not really liking it. At 3 months out you can pretty much have any kind of meats but I highly recommend that you eat the moist meats, they are easier to digest. I still like the moist meats to this day... I love chili a lot...... :)

For breakfast I will eat eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon and yogurts.... I have to keep my diet low of carbs because when I eat a carb, I will gain a couple of pounds, and it could be Water weight but I'm not really liking it. At 3 months out you can pretty much have any kind of meats but I highly recommend that you eat the moist meats, they are easier to digest. I still like the moist meats to this day... I love chili a lot...... :)

My body does not do well with carbs either. AT ALL! I hate it. Breakfast is hard because I get sick of eating eggs or having to cook in the morning. But I think I am going to have to revert back to doing eggs like I did before surgery as the yogurt isn't cutting it and I obviously can't have pancakes, french toast or some other kind of sinful carbs! :)

I try to eat Protein first. Because if I do not I'm hungrier. Today instead of expresso coffee Protein, i had nectar syntax zero carbs Protein shake.

Breakfast- Protein Shake

Mid morning- egg n bacon

lunch chicken

snack cheese stick or laughing cow cheese

dinner dense protein like Salmon

Water n Crystal light

Occasional Peanut Butter snack

I am so tired of being limited to the same foods so I am looking for other Proteins to eat..... Carbs also make me crash and feel really horrible...... I also will eat a Quest Protein Bar too. For breakfast, it's typically a Premier Protein shake or an egg. So boring now.... But so worth it. :)

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
