Rick0202 0 Posted April 9, 2013 Hi. I got the call today that my insurance approved my surgery, and now I have to set up an appt with the surgeon as to which surgery best suits me. My question is.. girlchild 5 Posted April 9, 2013 This will be totally dependent on your insurance company and doctor's requirements. I believe the average is around six months. It was for me. Some insurance requires 6 mo of supervised diet/nutrition. My insurance was actually pretty easy on me. Took 6 mos because my doctor is such a stickler. I had my first appt Jan 4th was approved Jan 6th and could have been sleeved the week of Valentine's day. I pushed my surgery out until March 20th by my own choice.
