suejersey 263 Posted April 9, 2013 On vacation with my husband and am eating like a crazy person. Still eating little portions but eating things I know I shouldn't! Eating out for every meal. Ice cream, bread, had a drink at dinner tonight. I am feeling a bit out of control and although at the moment I eat something I shouldn't I enjoy it I Immediately feel horrible about it afterwards. I did walk 4 miles today so I hope that helps combat the Chipwich I just ate at 10 pm I am really disappointed in myself and afraid that I will start going backwards and never reach my goal. Thanks for letting me vent.

Plus vacation is a time to relax and have fun which might cause you to lower your guard and make not so good eating decisions. However, do know that vacation time is short lived. You will be back home in short order in which you can rededicate your efforts. I think every day, even every meal, is an opportunity to reflect on prior good and bad choices. Good choices are but one meal away for you! You are never imprisoned by a bad choice for very long as you have control over the next decision. Life truly is a Fluid stream of choices that is always changing. You are never stuck with a bad decision. Do know that insanity is when you expect different results when making the same decisions over and over again. I know you don't want to go insane, so time to alter your decisions. You can do this! 4 ambalam, Puja, danyelleb and 1 other reacted to this
feedyoureye 3,087 Posted April 9, 2013 I know its really hard to do on vacation, but if you can write down everything you eat or drink... I get in trouble if I lose consciousness of what Im putting in my mouth... I eat WAY more than I think I do. I prefer being spontaneous while on vacation, but that attitude got me into real trouble in the past, and May of last year I regained around 10 pounds while on vacation and while food loving in laws were visiting for 8 weeks.. I ditched the food log, and the rest is STILL on my waist. Very hard to get rid of...and I have been trying and keeping track. Easier to keep track now then later....Have a great trip though! 2 Fiddleman and Puja reacted to this
suejersey 263 Posted April 9, 2013 Couple things......Ice Cream Chipwich is DEFINITELY a slider food! I ate almost a WHOLE chipwich! I walked about 4 miles yesterday and about 3 miles today so hopefully that will help combat. Am looking forward to getting home and getting back on track! Fiddleman, your comment about a good choice is only one choice away was so good and I WILL be back making good choices. Thanks for your input friends! Aussiegirl 580 Posted April 11, 2013 I know vacations can be hard for food consumption.I I am a foodie, so do like to try new things. When on vacation I try to enjoy local fresh produce or specialities, make it an experience rather than eatting for eatting sake. Be aware of what your eatting but also dont deny yourself just because you dont think you should, otherwise you also run the risk of over indulging....tight rope to walk. But in saying that you are on vacation, you are also more relaxed around times you wake up, eatting times, how you spend your day etc. When you get home get back in your routine, eatting should be treated the same way. Also generally on vacations you get more exercise in subconciously as you are out and about more. Dont be too hard on yourself about enjoying a vacation just be prepared to re-work it when you get back. 1 suejersey reacted to this
