I am 3 weeks post op had my surgery march 18 I was dating a guy pre-surgery that liked me the way I was before we'll there was some baggage with him but nothing I thought would matter. We'll about 2 wks post op started having trouble with him and kept leading me on and then not answering causing all these emotions to come to surface and just couldn't stop crying. We'll I finally broke it off but was leery .

I am just stand offish of dating because I fear I will constantly think he only likes me because I look good and would not normally date me if I had not had surgery ? Just don't know what to do ?

I wouldn't be concerned about that if I were you. There are going to be men attracted to you rather your big or small.

Exactly what Mrsmo33 said! With all you're going thru with the new you coming out, please don't waste anymore energy on someone who doesn't appreciate you. Let the thought of him disappear with your pounds sweetie! ;) (That's supposed to be a wink but doesn't really look like it. Looks more like someone hit with Bells Palsy! :( )

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
