I have been wanting to listen to this book on Audible.. however, the narrators for the book are awful. It sounds like a robot (for both the female and male voice). It would be nice if the author himself would read the book so that it's more personal and less like we're listening to an automated system from T-Mobile for many hours in the car.

I listened to the sample and it's not too horrid. Plus, you can listen at 1.25x speed (or faster), which is what I usually do on books like this.

This is a great book for people who want to know everything about the sleeve. It takes you all the way through the process. It is a long book so allow yourself time to get through it, but it is well worth it.

I am so glad I am not the only person who felt that way. After listening to a sample, I decided not to make the purchase. I enjoy informative audiobooks for long walks, this definitely won't be one that I purchase from Audible.

I'm on my second time through your book on Audible. PDF info is in a binder. I keep playing, listening, downloading the info to my brain. Listen and learn! Great tools! Thank you!

I found out about the book before the web site. It has been a big help for me in my research. The only complaint I have is typos in the book. I saw at least three before halfway though. I know that sounds lame, but I notice stuff like that.

They make me insane too! We really need to update it one of these days, thanks.

That drove me nuts too. And even a wrong image (RNY labeled as sleeve). For me the frequent typos/grammatical issues made it nearly unreadable because they bothered me so much (totally my issue, it's not actually unreadable). It's really too bad, because it's good information, but they sorely need a new editor.

I have the sleeve one for my tablet which is what led me to this site. I love the book and find its helping me prepare to be sleeved next month.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
