First day back to work tomorrow-- Suggestions? Advice?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed your weekend! Well, last week, April 1st to be exact, I underwent VSG surgery. I'm a teacher and last week was our spring break, therefore, I had all week to recover and school starts tomorrow. Yikes! Well, I'm not in much pain anymore. I've had minor discomfort around my incisions, but that's it. Although I feel ok, I'm still concerned about over-exerting myself. Can someone share advice from when they began work again? Strategies? suggestions? Words of encourage? Anything will help ease my mind :) Thanks!

Wow..back to work in one week. I took 2 weeks off. My suggestion is to wear something loose around the tummy for sure. Make sure you get a few walking breaks in, and keep a water bottle at your desk :)

Yes, & idk what age group your teaching....but try & sit to talk/lecture frequently! & keep that Water bottle handy. I also keep a Protein Bar handy just in case my sugar drops & I need a little bite of something!

Thank you both! I teach middle school so I can easily sit to talk. I will definitely keep Water with me. Thanks!

Make sure you have something to "eat". I would suggest a Protein Shake that you can sip on or some yogurt, you don't want to get light headed. Good luck!!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
