I have noticed that my skin is really dry! I've never had dry skin before and it's actually peeling a bit around my mouth. I use Oil of Olay moisturizer (the one in the red jar) because it was compared with much more expensive moisturizers and came out ahead. But lately when I'm home or going to bed, I have also been putting Vaseline on the dryest parts of my skin. On my lips, too, bc they have been chapped. And I drink a ton of water--whcih I think is important to keep skin healthy too.

I have always been an Oil of Olay user/supporter! People ask how I still look so young and I tell them it's because of that. =) I now have dry skin on my eyelid and bought their eye cream for it. So far, it's helping. This dry skin stuff is no joke and so annoying!

I don't have too much loose skin or at least not enough to bother me. wrinkles on my face are now vry noticeable. my saddle bags are starting to go south. i've gotta hit the gym harder.

I do have dry skin and I moisturize 2x a day.

So glad I read this, I am not alone LOL! I am having that same issue and I'm about 10 weeks post op. I have a nightly cream that I use, but I may have to invest in a day cream as well. My skin is peeling in different small Patches on my face!

I met some people at the surgery center where I was sleeved, they said compression clothing helps. You know, like under armor stuff like that. They both learned about it 8 months out but wished they had sooner, but they said it helps and they were both a year out.

For those with dry skin issues. Are you taking in healthy fats? I read so many posts about calories on VST but I swear by eating food with healthy fats in them like hemp seeds and avocados. Hope that helps.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
