3 week stalled - suggestions???

pamiam824

you can walk/exercise - drink more - never hurts

but........

stalls happen to all of "us"

newbies - to veterans

got to get used to the stalls - periodically they might/will happen

a stall can last anywhere from a few days, to weeks - even a month, or more  ) -hopefully not that extreme

easier said than done but..........

you gotta "ride the wave" - the stall will break, i promise :)

Would i lie to you??? :)

no way!!!!

"God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" :)

good luck :)

Yes as proudgrammy stated...stalls happen. Sad but true....I too have been stalled and my surgery date was 3/19/13. My Dr said this..." Angela, drink that Protein, stay hydrated and move!" He said most generally our stalls are due to our body trying to stay hydrated and the Protein we take in is getting used up due to dehydration....so I'm really working to hydrate and protein up!

Hang in there!!!!!!! You can do this ;-)

Thanks guys! I must say I'm not meeting my Protein. Or Water goals. I feel so full all the time. But I'm going to push harder to get my fluids in. Been going to the gym and taking walks in my neighborhood but I'll increase that also and pray for the stall to pass quickly. I've lost 29 lbs so far and just want to keep this ball rolling!!

Proudgrammy said it best - ride the wave. ( good one ). I'm riding the 3 week stall wave too. It's a major bummer. How can one not lose weight while eating between 400-800 calories a day?? I dunno but the weight is bound to come off eventually. Hang in there! I'll be hanging in with you.

I'm with y'all too. Only mine started on week 4. Wednesday will be 6 weeks PO. It's frustrating but I'm just hanging in there. Started couch 2 5k last week and am increasing fluids. Hopefully ill get back to being a loser soon. ;)

I'm stalled again...and trust me it gets to ya and makes you feel like screaming! But I'm not giving up, I won't let it take control over me. That's what is the most important, don't give up on the end result. This page has some of the strongest people here, we took control and made the decision to get healthy....we ALL can do this!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
