surgery date

AmyRN09

woo hoo - you got your DOS :)

big step, exact time period for you to look forward to :)

your doc may put you on a pre-diet?? (my doc didn't)

prior to surgery - you might experiment with dealing with some of the rules that go along with WLS

drinking is the most important :)

you must stop drinking about 30 minutes before you eat

you don't drink with any meals

you don't drink after you eat for 45-60 minutes

drink 64 oz liquid daily

chew very slowly, put utensil down, wait a couple of minutes before you start to eat again

eat smaller/moderate portions

try to curb your eating between meals (called grazing)

you are a couple of months pre-op, practicing any of the above is a good idea - preparing you for after surgery

the above are things you must deal with for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer, life :)

good luck

Thanks for your guidance and support! I unfortunately know a good bit about the expectations considering I had a lap band that was emergently removed due to complications and severe slipping. So surgeon removed my band (oct 2012) since I could no longer eat or swallow correctly and set me up for the sleeve. I had to complete some requirements for approval Insurance wise for the sleeve.
