ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted April 7, 2013 surgery date AmyRN09 woo hoo - you got your DOS big step, exact time period for you to look forward to your doc may put you on a pre-diet?? (my doc didn't) prior to surgery - you might experiment with dealing with some of the rules that go along with WLS drinking is the most important you must stop drinking about 30 minutes before you eat you don't drink with any meals you don't drink after you eat for 45-60 minutes drink 64 oz liquid daily chew very slowly, put utensil down, wait a couple of minutes before you start to eat again eat smaller/moderate portions try to curb your eating between meals (called grazing) you are a couple of months pre-op, practicing any of the above is a good idea - preparing you for after surgery the above are things you must deal with for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer, life good luck

I unfortunately know a good bit about the expectations considering I had a lap band that was emergently removed due to complications and severe slipping. So surgeon removed my band (oct 2012) since I could no longer eat or swallow correctly and set me up for the sleeve. I had to complete some requirements for approval Insurance wise for the sleeve.
