I wasn't eating Protein bars until 3 months out. Then Pure Protein, snack well, south beach and Proti Diet were recommended. I like the pure protein and proti diet. Tried a Quest and hated it!!!

Quest and Atkins advance look pretty good... if you go by net carbs I think each bar has about 4-5 net carbs. They do have close to 200 calories so they are almost like a Meal Replacement for people who are sleeved.

I have not tried either of them so not sure how good they taste. My wife eats the kashi go lean bars and I decided to try one even though they have 21g net carbs. It tasted great so I decided to research Protein bars that were low in carbs. My research lead me to certain Quest and Atkin bars.

I'm a little over 6 weeks out, and I love Pure Protein S'more bars. They have 19 grams of protein and 180 calories. They are soft to eat too. I got them at Wal-Mart.

My nut suggested Cliff bars. I really like them AND most Circle Ks (or convenient stores) carry them.

I'm sorry, my two year old grabbed the phone and hit buttons while I was reading!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
