Amenorrhea is not normal I was sleeved 5 months ago and I have always been very regular and haven't missed one.. I'd be worried if I did.. Check in with your gyno just to be safe..

I haven't had one in 4 months or so and I'm 8 months out...my OB said its normal but I should tell her if it goes on for another few months. I've been on the pill too. I may discontinue the pill for a little bit just to see if it normalizes.

I would at least mention it to your gynecologist. It is not okay for the body to keep building up the tissue month after month after month. The Doctor may suggest you force a bleed just to flush the build up out. They do that with medication(s). I went through this a year ago because my cycles have always been abnormal.

Awesome! How much weight have you lost and what is your BMI? This might put someone else's mind to rest who is in the same boat.

It is fairly common. Our cycles are very touchy and the stress the body goes through and all the changes effects it and our hormones. Some people have it for 2 months straight... you heard me... HAVE IT FOR 2 MONTHS STRAIGHT. Can you even imagine! Our bodies are fickle things. I had mine about 2 weeks pre-surgery and didn't get it again till very recently, at 3 months post.

Definately keep monitoring it and it certainly would not hurt to bring it up to a doc, but it is pretty common to be abnormal after surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
