SassySenior 111 Posted April 6, 2013 PARTIERS: Unless you hear differently, we are going to be using a snail mail approach to our party. Southernsoul is working on a different solution, but hasn't figured it out yet, and may not in time for our party. So, here's how it will go. We'll be posting back and forth in the Boomers Chat Room thread. Yeah, I know. It kinda sux, but best we can do now. TIME: 7:30 pm EST, 6:30 pm CST, 3:30 pm MST (i think, not an MST expert) We'll gather in cyber space in the Boomers Chat Room and talk back and forth. OK? Any questions? I've invited a couple of other sleevers who may come. Both have a lot to offer. Mark is a body builder who knows a lot about supplements, Vitamins and the like. SophiaBubbles heads up a group called Starting out at 300 lbs or more. You'll like them - neat people - like you guys!!
CA712 111 Posted April 14, 2013 I guess we are not having a chat this weekend; I haven't heard from anyone. I hope everyone is doing well. As you know I am now 5 weeks post op and still have days that I feel like I am dragging ass. I get all my Protein in now so I am not sure what is going on. I am at a loss for words. I am not sorry that I have had this surgery but it sure is tough. My hubby still wants to eat out everyday for Breakfast and I don't want to go out and now this is causing a problem. He has lost is eating buddy and now he is mad at me. I have not idea what to think.
searching 5 Posted April 14, 2013 04/12/2013 Sorry to hear your not feeling well. I haven't had surgery yet. But out on the other web sites there is lots of info that may help. But if ones not feeling well its hard to search for answers. I am also sorry to hear your hubby isn't more understanding. Didn't he want you to have the surgery? Mine is afraid. I think the people who are on this site have a lot going on and post when they can but it's usually not daily. I am like that as I have a lot going on so I come and go on the site. Take care. Hope you get feeling better. Sincerely, Searching
CA712 111 Posted April 14, 2013 Thank you searching: I know there were going to be changes after surgery and my husband was also afraid for me. He knows now that there are adustments he is going to have to make and I think he really did not understand how many adjustments he was going to have to make himself. Once a family member decides to have this surgery everything changes for the whole family. food has been the center of all holidays and family get togethers all I am saying is we can all still Celebrate them together but I will not be particiapating in the large family meals any longer. I sure hope as time moves forward that my hubby and family get used to me not eating. I guess they are all used to me eating large meals and it is an adjustment for them as well to see me not eating the way I did. I guess since I ate so much that it gave them permission to over eat as well and now that has been taken away from them.
SassySenior 111 Posted April 14, 2013 Hi Girls, I'm happy that you are supporting each other. I've been out of commission, studying and testing for a project. I don't know if I'll make it on because I was close to the end when I ran out of time. I did pass one test, which is the main requirement to qualify, but didn't get to finish the training. So we'll see how flexible they can be. Searching - Being afraid of the surgery is quite natural, most everyone feels that way, be it patient or family. caspinelli712 - As to being an eating buddy, can you just accompany him and maybe get an egg white omelet and drink Decaf? I'm sure he hates the thought of going by himself. If you're feeling sluggish, I'd focus on drinking enough Water and getting at least 60 g or more of Protein. I've read several posts on this site and another site on fb where others have discussed this problem. I'm not sure yet if I'll be busy working or not. I'll let you know. Keep up the chit chat, though. It's a great way to vent and/or ask for advice. Congrats for doing both!
